|60 Seconds with Fitness Guru Hugo Camacho|
This month we feature Danceworks teacher Hugo Camacho, who has been in the fitness industry for 21 years, teaching in Danceworks plus health centres & gyms in Portugal, Spain, Italy and the UK. Hugo is also a performer and been on stage in six musicals and other productions, as well as a guest choreographer for several productions.
For the past 6 years he has been developing his personal training programme whilst also developing his knowledge and understanding of fitness and undertaking extensive research. The 4 key elements in his approach to fitness are POSTURE, EXERCISE, STRENGTH and TONE.
Why did you choose to teach fitness?

What keeps you motivated?
“My clients give me inspiration to keep going & also good music”
What’s the strangest or funniest thing that’s happened in one of your classes?
“Once I was teaching a class & I was doing squats & my shorts completely ripped in the back….. Also once quite recently I had a client that wanted to film me the entire class (Trampoline) so she could do it at home.”
What piece of advice would you give to your 16 years old self?
“Eat healthy & do exercise, find the class & the instructor/teacher that inspires you & then inspire others”
What advice would you give people who would like to get fit but don’t know where to start?
“Come to Danceworks, my clients are very demanding but also the most welcoming, when someone new comes they become part of a family, we created a little bubble & every week we have the most amazing classes.”
Where have you traveled in the world and where would you be happy to live?
“I have travel around the world as a dancer & as a fitness instructor, I’m from Portugal & if I could chose two places to live 1 London or 2 Melbourne Australia”
What super-power would you choose?
“The power to bring peace to the world & together to figure out a way to live happy look after each other & our planet.”
