The course aims to teach participants how to integrate the dances with some acting and singing, exploring the characters, themes and tunes of the three shows La La Land, Mama Mia and Wicked, and will culminate with a small performance through song and dance.

Classes will be taught in a fun, friendly and supportive environment and will involve mainly group exercises and group performance. No-one will be put under the spotlight individually (unless by their express wish, although time constraints apply). Let’s go La La!

About Livio

Livio has worked internationally as a performer, choreographer and dance teacher since the age of 16, when he started featuring regularly on the most popular Italian TV shows. His talents took him to the international market, dancing for Ricky Martin and choreographing for the multi-award winning pop sensation ATC-(A Touch of Class), touring Asia, America, Australasia and throughout Europe as well as being a band member. Livio’s career has also spanned musical theatre as a performer (Cats, Westside Story, The Sound of Music) and as an international choreographer for music videos, commercials and musicals (The Christmas Carol ,The Animal Farm,’Everyman for Herself‘ , ‘Divinely Bette’). He is the artistic director/choreographer of the all male dance company G-Nome, semifinalist on the smash hit tv show ‘Got To Dance‘  on Sky1 and he’s recently worked on the movies: Walking on Sunshine, with Greg Wise, Leona Lewis; Man up with Lake Bell and Simon Pegg and Foster Florence Jenkins with Hugh Grant and Meryl Streep.

Livio started dancing at 9 years old in his hometown of Bergamo, Italy. After several years of ballet training at the ‘G.Donizzetti Academy’, at the age of 15, he won his first national ballet competition in Milan. This  gave him the possibility to study for few years with international ballet teachers such as Jozo Borcic, Vadim Disniskij, Wayne Byars, & Robert Strainer. He then moved to Rome to study contemporary modern jazz at the  I.A..L.S. Dance Center in Rome where he had the fortune to refine his trainging  with  international teachers such as Steve La Chance, Daniel Tinazzi, Mauro Mosconi and Mauro Astolfi (Spellbound dance company) to name a few.

He started working professionally at the age of 16  when he was spotted by renowned American choreographers Brian & Garrison who introduced him to the national television/commercial circuit. After performing for several years as a featured dancer for many popular tv shows he danced for Ricky Martin in his 1997 Italian promo tour. Livio was often called upon to utilize his vocal talents as well, leading him naturally into the world of musical theatre. He refined his training with tutors of international repute, securing the roles of Baby John in ‘Westside Story’’, Rolf in  ‘The Sound of Music’, and Mungojerry in the international cast of the German production of ‘Cats’.

Whilst in Germany, together with 3 friends and colleagues from ‘Cats’, he embarked on another dream: the creation of the multi-award winning pop group ‘ATC’ (A Touch of Class). Their success was fast and furious, taking them literally around the world performing at The Dome, Viva, MTV, CD UK, Popkomm, Top of the Pops and Regis & Kelly, scooping 9 gold and 3 platinum records, the European ‘Echoe’, ‘Amadeus’’ and ‘Golden Europa’ awards. With their hit single ‘Around the world’ they broke the record for the most played song over German radios and reached more than 9 million hits on you-tube. As well as being a member of the group, Livio was also the creative director and choreographer. When the members of the group decided to go their separate ways he then moved back to Italy where he decided to further his acting skills studying at the acclaimed ‘Duse International Centre of Cinema and Theatre’ under renowned actors such as Allan Miller, Francesca De Sapio and Ennio Coltorti. During those years in Italy he had the great pleasure of performing in the original theatre piece ‘Masquerade’’, directed by Francesca De Sapio, he co-starred in the film ‘The 1400’s in Florence’, about the life of the painter Masaccio and also performed and choreographed for the National ‘Operetta Festival’ in Trieste.

In the last few years he decided to utilize all that gained experience to focus primarily on the creative side of the performing industry, working as a dance teacher and as a choreographer and artistic director for musicals, commercial events and dance acts. Livio had the great fortune of sharing his talents in Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Italy teaching at the Mad Dance Studio in Brisbane ,at the City Dance Studio & CCMT  in Auckland, at Cremona Danza (1st & 2nd edition), at the Theatre Center San Gallo in Tolentino and at the academy ’Arte nel Cuore’ in Rome, integrating  children with special needs into the performing arts.
