Hong 10 (Real name Kim Hong-Yeol) was born on 27th December 1984 in South Korea. He first became a well-known breakdancer during 2002 when he exploded onto the scene being part of the Korean crews that won the then two most prestigious dance competitions in the world – Battle of the Year International and the UK B-Boy Championships. However, the fame came through in his solo performances, his first set against Vagabonds from France during BOTY 2002 created the ‘Hong10 freeze’ legacy. As of 2007, he had won more than 20 competitions as an individual or as a member of a crew, and was termed ‘the best B-Boy in the world’. He is a former member of the Korean crew Expressions and is currently a member of Drifterz Crew. Known for his extremely complex, flawless, innovative style,he’s won 1st place all over the world in competitions such as France Hip Hop Planet, UK B-Boy Championships, and International Battle of the Year in Germany. Hong 10 is known for his exceptional endurance and strength and is an organized battle strategist. He sorts out his body and his mind and then calmly calculates what he must do to win. He has a big repertoire and makes sure he has his weapons ready and knows when to drop which move by studying all of his opponents. The Korean b-boy dances with intricate precision and control, blowing away many of his opponents with a variety of power moves and some of his own moves that he invented. His accomplishments include both a Red Bull BC One individual title (2006) and a Battle of the Year crew title (2002). He also was a judge at the 2007 Battle of the Year world finals.
