“A camera looks. A mind sees. A heart perceives”.
Born 1960, American Ed Flores took up photography in 1995 following a medical scare, which made him reevaluate his corporate career path. With no formal training, he had to learn photography from scratch and is self-taught.
Inspired by Carravaggio, Ed learned how to use shadow and light as a tool to add depth, emotion and drama to his work. Ed’s first dance images were for University of Arizona Dance Dept, and these led to a ‘Dance Teacher Now’ magazine cover. This has led to a successful career in dance and fashion. However, he says – “Dance is my passion. It moves me, it drives me and it humbles me. For all of my experiences as a photographer I am grateful”.
