Top Hat
is a 2011 stage musical adapted from the 1935 film directed by Mark Sandrich. The show opened on August 19, 2011 at the Milton Keynes Theatre, then toured the UK for 17 weeks before transferring to the West End. The show won multiple awards at the 2013 Laurence Oliver Awards, after receiving several nominations.The production transferred to the West End’s Aldwych Theatre on April 19, 2012, opening on May 9, 2012.Top Hat won the 2013 Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreographer (Bill Deamer), the Best New Musical and Best Costume Design (Jon Morrell). The show will close on 26 October 2013 with plans to launch a new U.K. tour in the 2014-15 theatre season.

An American dancer Jerry Travers dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society model Dale Tremont. It is Packed full of Irving Berlin’s greatest hits, such as Let’s Face the Music and Dance, Cheek to Cheek and Top Hat, White Tie and Tails, stunning tap, romantic ballroom and a little bit of Busby Berkeley thrown in for good measure. Top Hat is a giddy, glorious celebration of 1930s song and dance, featuring magnificent sets and over 200 costumes.
