jordanmatter-photo1 About Jordan
.
Jordan Matter is a New York photographer, a former actor and a professional photographer specialising in dance photography based in Manhattan, US. He specializes in headshots and comp card for a large list of models and actors that incluces Alan Cumming, Michael Gastoon, and other notables, but also shoots fashion, weddings & more. He has been featured by The Today Show, Tyra Banks, MSNBC, CBS, NBC and the BBC. He is the author of the best selling book Dancers Amoung Us in which he took his subjects out into the streets, shooting elite dancers around the US. His vision is to depict dancers outside of the rehearsal studios and concert halls in which they are typically photographed. Matter says they come to symbolize the possibility of “joy in the everyday”, which he feels, too many of us fail to recognize. He is currently working on a new project, Dancers After Dark, which reveals a world he is creating after midnight in the streets of Manhattan and Montreal, and now London.
