Julie and Javier on Got to Dance

   Julie is currently competing in the Sky1 TV show “Got to Dance” with her dance partner Javier : support them!
 Julie’s biographyJulie comes from a family of dancers, and as a result, studied all forms of dance from an early age. Being on the stage held a great attraction for her and played a major role in the development of her career. In 1993 she travelled to New York to train at the world renowned Alvin Ailey Studios. At the age of 14 she became a member of the Cape Youth Dance Company, performing in numerous productions. Thereafter, she gained employment with the North West Arts Dance Company, where she spent 3 years, performing both contemporary and traditional african dance. In 2002 Julie was employed by the teaching faculty of the Cape Academy of Performing Arts. She rejoined the newly named Cape Dance Company as a soloist and choreographer. In 2004, South African choreographer Sean Bovim created his ballet “Urban Silhouettes” wherein she performed the title lead role. In 2006 she became a member of the cast of “We Will Rock You”. In 2009 she immigrated to the United Kingdom to further her dance career.

Javier’s biography

Javier started his training in Seville, Spain. At the age of 18, he moved to Madrid and made his professional debut joining the cast of “High School Musical”, touring around Spain for a year and a half. Then, he got into “The Beauty and the Beast” in Barcelona. After finishing the second season with this musical, Javier decided to go back into full time training, and received a Dance and Drama Awards to study his musical theater diploma at The Urdang Academy in London. Since then, Javier has been combining his studies with some professional credits in London, such as “Elysium Cabaret”(lead singer and dancer) at Prism and “The Olympic Ceremonies” (dancer).
