Lorien’s classes are accessible, high energy and fun. With an emphasis on achieving technical accuracy whatever your level. He brings his extensive knowledge of the classics and grounding in anatomy to create a class which has hints of repertoire with, good, pragmatic corrections. Above all he hopes people will work hard and learn in a fun, encouraging environment.
Lorien Slaughter trained at and graduated from the Royal Ballet School. He worked with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, English National Ballet and in Japan’s K-Ballet where he performed seasonally for 7 years. On returning to the UK he performed principal roles with Ballet Ireland, The Curve Foundation and The English Youth Ballet. He retired from dance in 2012 to pursue a degree at St. George’s University.
He retired from dance in 2012 to branch out into the world of medicine and graduated from St George’s University of London with a degree in Physiotherapy in the summer of 2015. In addition to his dance teaching, Lorien works as an Musculoskeletal Physio at Move Clinics and is also an avid runner and a qualified sports massage therapist.
